While numerous areas in the United States and Canada have recently been placed under government-mandated restrictions, United Rentals has consistently been designated as an essential business and as a supplier to essential businesses.
This is because United Rentals performs services and also supports our customers in performing services that are essential to the health, safety, infrastructure, and security of the nation. As a result, we are typically exempt from restrictions on travel or work outside the home imposed in connection with COVID-19.
By way of example, we provide equipment and services to public works contractors and subcontractors (including for the construction of critical or strategic infrastructure, road work, and transportation). Additionally, we help to support public health, energy, transportation and logistics, the defense industrial base, electricians, construction crews, and other businesses involved in essential businesses. And we help provide equipment and services to customers as they set up COVID-19 testing centers, expand hospital operations, and support first responders throughout North America.
United Rentals has the largest fleet and branch network, and we’re prepared to support customer requirements locally, regionally and nationally. We have cleaned our fleet and ensured its rental readiness. Additionally, we are available to support the special business needs customers may have as a result of the COVID-19 situation including portable restrooms, showers, generators, traffic control systems, climate systems, light towers, and more.
